Learn about our story

  • Our story begins in 1968 when Giuseppe "Pino" Liberatori arrived in Canada off the coast of Halifax from Italy with just a "broken suitcase" as he likes to say. With nothing to his name, Pino quickly began learning the drywall trade with Campbell Drywall building a reputation for himself. After ten years of working seven days a week to provide for his young family, a newly founded drywall company by the name of Advance Drywall came calling.

  • The owners of Advance Drywall had heard of a young and ambitious taper making a name for himself with one of their main competitors, and offered Pino a job as head foreman in 1979. It wasn't long after that his knowledge and expertise as a foreman began to be recognized by the owners of the company, when in 1984, he became a co-owner of Advance Drywall. Pino's fight to the top was integral to the explosion of Advance Drywall, breathing new life into a struggling company taking Advance Drywall to new heights it has never seen before, making them the biggest drywall contractor in all of Ottawa.

  • After running Advance Drywall for 36 years, Pino shut their doors in 2015 to reopen as Antonick Interiors. Named after his two grandsons; Antonio and Nicholas, Antonick was created to carry on his legacy while creating a truly family owned and operated business. Pino's company is now entirely run by his family working with the cities largest general contractors on various commercial projects and track-homes around Ottawa.

“i came to this country with A dream, debt in my pocket and a broken suitcase.”
